The company will start offering instructor-led courses and training on Websense's product line to end-users and resellers, with immediate effect.
The courses will be led by Hein Mulder, who has become a Websense Certified Instructor. Courses on offer include the Websense Certified Engineer - Web Security Course, a three-day course that guides participants through installation, configuration, administration and support of the Websense filtering software (Websense Enterprise and Websense Web Security Suite).
The courses give participants experience of the requirements and recommendations for Websense product deployment through tuition, instructor-led demos, hands-on lab exercises, videos and tutorials. The training also arms participants with knowledge of core and secondary component functionality, including remote filtering, delegated and remote administration, reporting and troubleshooting via internal and third-party diagnostic processes.
Donovan Mooney, Product Manager for South Africa, Websense, commented: "With the recent acquisition of SurfControl, it is imperative that resellers gain the technical skills that will enable them to sell a broad range of content protection solutions, including Web and e-mail security. These skills will put the reseller in good stead for the new Websense channel partnership programme that will be launched in South Africa in late January 2008."
Websense products increase employee Internet productivity and secure organisations from emerging Internet threats by providing proactive security components that complement traditional security solutions. The company's products deliver flexible, integrated policy enforcement at the Internet gateway, on the network and at the desktop.
Says Terence Delaney, Services Director at SecureData Security: "We are proud to join Websense's global network of Authorised Training Partners and will be offering the same quality of training to our resellers and their customers as they would enjoy anywhere else in the world.
"These courses include hands-on tasks and real-world scenarios that give delegates valuable practical experience. The training programmes that we will offer will ensure resellers and end-users are able to make the most of their investments into Websense software."
